To improve traffic safety, several system like traffic signs, lights and road marks are known and installed in addition to a given systems. The University of Kassel, Hering Bau as a prefab company and G.tecz as specialist in concrete started to investigate a possibility to combine traffic safety systems and road constructions into one part. Road marks for example help to guide but the used materials are not durable and renewable. By using the Quantz technology, thin and strong elements for facades as well as further massive concrete elements can be realized in a very cost-effective way.
Within this project G.tecz developed a simple method for the production of a retro reflecting concrete with Quantz. Thereby small spheres out of glass are being embedded to the concrete surface. Impacting light will reflect at the backside of the spheres to the origin.
